About The Clarity Practice.

The Clarity Practice is the consulting and advisory work of Joshua Spence.

Joshua brings more than fourteen years of experience in business and ministry administration, including C-suite leadership in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, more than five years of collective pastoral experience across multiple congregations, and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Asbury Theological Seminary. He has built and run two of his own small businesses, and currently serves as CEO and board member of Excellence of Christ Ministries.

His areas of focus include business growth and development, systems and operations, budgeting and accounting, AI applications for ministry and business, preaching and teaching, and donor development. But the work that ties all of it together is the same conviction: technology should serve people, not consume them. Systems should create peace, not pressure. AI should enhance discernment, not bypass it.

The Clarity Practice exists for the leaders who feel the weight of all of this — the pastors, executive directors, and ministry founders who are wearing too many hats, navigating tools they didn't sign up to learn, and trying to lead faithfully in a season where every week brings a new platform or technology to evaluate.

The work itself is practical: building systems, implementing AI thoughtfully, clarifying communications, documenting operations, structuring donor and member care, designing onboarding, and helping leaders make sense of a digital world that keeps moving the goalposts.

But the heart of it is pastoral. Healthy organizations are built the same way healthy people are: through clarity, trust, rhythm, and a refusal to mistake activity for fruitfulness.
